San Pek Eng Tay is a folktale from China
which tells of an episode of the life of a
young intellectual named Ciok Eng Tay (abbreviated, Eng
Tay) and educated young man named Nio San Pek
(Abbreviated, San Pek) who lived in the 4th century AD.
As usual folk tales, this story is
anonymous and has several versions.
It is undeniable that San Pek Eng Tay -often
called Sam (sic) Pek Eng Tay- is one of the works
Chinese literature is popular in our country for the future
long, more than a century. Since adaptation Boen
Sing Hoo entitled Tjerita Dahoeloe State Kala in Tjina,
Terpoengot of Tjerita'an Boekoe Menjanjian Tjina Sam Pik
Ing Taij published in 1885, until now there has been
no less than 10 books similar. even some
among them, including adaptations Boen Hoo Sing it,
reprinted several times. This story was
often been filmed and staged. its popularity
not limited to the ethnic Chinese people only,
